Kalona SuperNatural™ is based in Kalona, Iowa, a small farming community in the heartland of America. We work with small, sustainable family farms to provide delicious, certified organic whipping cream from pasture-grazed cows. The bottled milk products offered by Kalona SuperNatural™ contain fresh, locally-sourced milk from Iowa Amish and Mennonite farms.
Six days a week, milk from these local farms arrives at our creamery and is gently processed so we can deliver your cream in the most natural state possible. We choose to use a lower-temp pasteurization process. We also do not homogenize our whipping cream –leaving a delicious cream top for you to enjoy.

I live in Missouri, and this is the only brand of whipping cream available in our state, that I know of, with no additives. I use whipping cream and heavy cream a lot when cooking various dishes, sauces and making ice cream. We didn’t have trouble finding natural creams here until a few months ago, when our go-to organic dairy brands began adding gellan gum to their products. I found out only as I was pouring it into my ice cream mix, and noticed a really funky consistency…WAY too thick and goopy…then read the label and saw that gellan gum was now being added. Not only did it behave very differently, it tasted off and produced ice cream that didn’t melt into liquid, but into snotty clumps of goo in the sink…even after sitting for hours. I tried Kalona’s whipping cream for the first time this weekend. I whipped some up to serve with homemade apple pie and wasn’t disappointed. I use a stand mixer and it whipped up beautifully light, fluffy and airy. It was nice and soft like fresh whipped cream is supposed to be, not thick and heavy like cream with thickeners produces. It tasted just like I remember from my childhood. It is the only whipping cream I will purchase from now on. When you go to Amazon’s Whole Foods Market store, there are many negative reviews for this product, saying how it doesn’t whip or is “clumpy” and spoiled. I personally believe these are from buyers who don’t understand that the product is not homogenized, and many are simply smear campaigns from major brand’s marketing divisions…seeing as how they “mention” other brands by name in their reviews as being SO much better 🤦♀️. Several of the major organic dairy producers have recently partnered with investment groups like ***guard and *****rock to focus on “green initiatives” and this is about the time we began seeing additives used in all our organic creams…at least in my state. I hope Kalona is committed to remaining independent, and will continue to provide us with unadulterated, clean dairy for years to come.

What is most important is that they are practicing regenerative farming and helping to clean up the land that was destroyed by big agriculture luring farmers into believe their way was faster and cheaper while putting them into more debt. I use their cream and butter every morning in my keto dandy blend. If I have cream that is expiring I freeze into cube trays and then throw in the blender with my dandy blend and collagen powder. I found out about kalona from someone on Instagram. I went to the supermarkets in my area and to my surprise they don’t carry all the Kalona products. The only one I can find is this whipping cream. My husband and I use it as our coffee creamer. It’s creamy delicious and makes our coffee taste even better. I like it because is low temp pasteurized and only one ingredient. Real cream. No additives and garbage like other brands out there. Kalona is the real deal. I wish I could find their other products in my area.
